I have lived in this area for 5 years. I choose a Holzer doctor for my new primary care doctor. My original doctor left Holzer, the 2nd one left, then the 3rd and so one. In 5 years I have been through 8 doctors. Most recently my doctor left so I had to take an appointment as a new patient with someone else but before that appointment arrived that doctor left. What's going on?
Last straw: My daughter was there for an appointment and she was left in an examining room for over an hour. Finally had to get dressed and go out and find someone. The Dr. she was there to see had left and she was told to reschedule. They had forgotten she was there! This place is now dead to us. I hope they go out of business so we can possibly get a better provider in town.
Have had nothing but repeated bad experiences here. I would give the place no stars if I could.
Perhaps even more frustrating is the Holzer phone system. You can try calling 6 or 7 times a day and not get a human for a whole week. You can leave a please call me back message and receive no response for days, if ever. I have had to drive a handicapped adult I assist over there multiple times to just MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. It is that bad.
Lab cannot seem to send tests to anywhere else. Software they use is incompatible with local hospital. They mixed up test results more then once. Had to physically go in to get test results as they are unable to send anything between providers. I will never use this lab again. Go anywhere else!
Difficult getting in to see the doctor. They expect existing patients to wait several weeks. Overall a nice facility, but getting in is the worst. Can't recommend because of this.
The best care in Athens, would pick Holzer 10 times over any other place!
