I normally do not leave reviews for businesses. However, my past experience with AT&T in Athens has me livid. I had called in originally because my iPhone screen was damaged (cracked glass, could still be used...just annoying). I wasn’t sure if AT&T repaired devices. After calling in and talking to one of their female reps, she told me, “There’s nowhere reliable in Athens. We can recommend Apple or a place in Parkersburg”. Not much more was said and we hung up. This led to me going into the store in hopes of talking to someone new. After going into the store, I talked to a male rep and he said the same thing.
This past experience with AT&T has me ready to switch carriers after my contract is done. Very poor service from their reps and one highly disappointed customer from AT&T.
For those who do not know, the closest Apple store to Athens is 1 1/2 hours outside of Athens in Columbus. I ruled that one our pretty quickly as I’ve had repairs in my old hometown. Screen repairs are typically fairly quick (from my past experiences anyways). Most of the time the Apple store tells you something can’t be repaired to try and sell you a new device.
Three people working, one other customer in the store, tried to get help but the guy was so rude. You need better staff, seriously.
What’s even more amusing is how their reps informed me that there’s nowhere “reliable” in Athens, yet the place in Athens I went to (Athens iPhone Repair) has a 4.9 rating on Google and Facebook from their reviews (out of over 200 combined. Not reliable? Yet this AT&T barely has a 3.0 rating.
I had to go in there because my husband passed away they was able to take all his pictures off his phone and put them on a sd card and the it was time for.him to go home and he stayed right with till he got it done.
This led to me traveling to Parkersburg. I stopped by 2 places there, both of which wanted an outrageous amount for the repair (I would have been better off going the insurance route). This led to me searching Facebook. After about 10 minutes of searching I came across a place RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD from this AT&T (a literal 2 minute drive). Not only was their pricing way cheaper than all the places in Parkersburg, the repair took maybe 15 minutes while I waited. It’s a complete shame at what this AT&T store is doing.
